Abundant flowering from June to August, parma pink and cream, streaked with orange at the heart, in clusters of 10 to 20cm. Large green spears of foliage up to 20cm, turning yellow in autumn. It forms a large shrub or a small tree depending on the size at which it is trained. An original plant resulting from hybridisation between a Catalpa bignonioides and a Chilopsis linearis. The first clones were obtained in-vitro in Uzbekistan at the botanical garden of the University of Tashkent by F.N. Rusanov in 1964. Introduced to the USA in 1977 as part of the first scientific exchange protocol between the two countries, it was named and described by Elias and Wisura in 1991.
