A small, rounded tree with colourful foliage in spring and autumn. Its young palmate leaves are coloured red at the edges and remain yellow in the centre and along the veins from April to June. In autumn, the foliage takes on bronze to golden hues. Hardy, healthy and resistant to pollution, it thrives in rich soil, remaining more vigorous in cool soil. It prefers to be out of the hot sun. Presumed to be a hybrid between the Field Maple (Acer campestris) and the Colchis Maple (cappadocicum).
